Lao Tzu, a Chinese philosopher, is considered to be the founder of Taoism. His teachings were compiled into the Tao Te Ching (The Way and Its Power). Since earliest times, Chinese thought has been characterized by an awareness of man's close relationship with nature and the universe. The concept explores a spiritual journey of a man who finds his own path in life. In this piece, through his journey journey, he becomes one with the nature. I was inspired by the quote “The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step” by Lao Tzu. The technique for this project is paint-on-glass using ink to express Lao Tzu's profound and philosophical thought and teachings. The transparent quality of ink is a close to Chinese traditional paintings that represents their way of life.
